UK-SRP Community Engagement and Research Translation Cores Present Posters at NIEHS Partnerships for Public Health Meeting

(April 2010) - Personnel from the University of Kentucky Superfund Research Program (UK-SRP) Community Engagement and Research Translation Cores participated in the inaugural NIEHS Partnerships for Public Health Meeting at Research Triangle Park, NC. Dr. Lisa Gaetke (left), core leader for Community Engagement, and Anna Goodman Hoover (right), member of the Research Translation Core, participated in two days of sessions that addressed ways of engaging stakeholders at multiple levels, and both presented posters describing ongoing UK-SRP efforts in this area.

The new Partnerships for Environmental Public Health initiative brings together scientists, community members, educators, health care providers, public health officials, and policymakers to advance the impact of environmental public health research at local, regional, and national levels. The inaugural PEPH meeting was designed to introduce PEPH grantees and stakeholders to one another and to provide opportunities to share projects, approaches, tools, experiences, and challenges.
