Dr. Lisa Cassis and doctoral students Michael Petriello and Cetewayo Rashid were invited speakers at the 21st South East Lipid Research Conference.
(Fall 2012) -The 21st South East Lipid Research Conference was held in Callaway Gardens, Pine Mountain, Georgia, September 27-29, 2012 and featured experts in the scientific field of lipid research. Dr. Cassis is chairing Session 6, entitled “Lipids and Environmental Toxins”. Her invited presentation was entitled “Polychlorinated biphenyls, adipocyte arylhydrocarbon receptors, and diabetes”. During that same Session, Michael Petriello presented on “The role of fatty acid modifications in PCB-induced endothelial dysfunction”, and Cetewayo Rashid gave a presentation on “Effects of perinatal PCB 126 exposure on body composition and glucose tolerance”.
