(February 2009) - Dr. Lindell Ormsbee, Core Leader of the UK-SRP Research Translation Core, has received the Gillim Professional Recognition Award for Outstanding Service from the American Society of Civil Engineers.
In addiition to his work with the Superfund Research Program, Dr. Ormsbee is Director of both the Kentucky Water Resources Research Institute and the Kentucky Research Consortium for Energy and the Environment. Since joining the faculty of the University of Kentucky in 1983, Dr. Ormsbee has been actively engaged in research, teaching, and consulting in water resources and environmental engineering. He has published more than 150 technical papers and reports on various topics in this field. Dr. Ormsbee's research interests include: Mathematical Modeling of Hydraulics and Hydrologic Systems, GIS/Simulation Model Interface/Environmental Informatics, Water Supply Planning, Watershed Management, Genetic Algorithms/Artificial Neural Networks, Water Distribution Network Modeling, TMDL Modeling and Methodologies, and Operations Research/Systems Analysis.
