My father has played such an important role in my life, even though he has been gone since 2007. He is one of the main reasons I am at the University of Kentucky and not a day goes by that I do not think of him and thank him for all he has done for me.
Robinson Scholars has been such a blessing in my life and they really are like a family outside of my own. Crafting is a personal love of mine, and because of this love a small group of friends and myself decided to start a crafting club on campus two years ago. Since then we have donated items to the greater Lexington community to serve those in need. Another way that my father has impacted my current, and future, endeavors is the major I decided upon. Growing up my father was very ill, and was constantly in and out of the healthcare system. Because of this, I came to know and love the profession of nursing early on.
Nursing, to me, is one of the greatest professions one can aspire to. Helping those around you with their physical, emotional, and spiritual well being is an amazing journey. I am a nursing major, with hopes to graduate in May 2014. I hope to graduate from UK with my BSN next year, and move on to help many people around the world. I am participating in the Student Nurse Academic Practicum this summer (2013), which is yet another amazing opportunity. My life has been blessed with so many great opportunities, great people, and experiences I will never forget. I live each day as if it were my last, and try to never take a moment for granted.
