I was very involved in high-school. I was in the National Honors Society, NAHS, BETA Club, The Thespian Society, KEY Club, and Journalism. The Robinson Scholarship helped motivate me to be a good student and scholar. RSP also gave me confidence in my academic and social abilities.
I am working toward a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Social Studies in the College of Education. I am becoming more open-minded and an overall well-rounded citizen here at the university. I love UK because of its school spirit, the opportunities it provides and the community it creates for students. GO BIG BLUE!!!
The Robinson Scholars Program has become a second family to me. I am blessed beyond my wildest imagination to be able to leave the stresses of worrying about financing my higher education and go to a presitgious school like the University of Kentucky. Here, I am gaining a priceless education in order to better myself and rise above the barriers of being a first-generation student. Because of Robinson Scholars, I have become more involved in the well-being of my south-eastern Kentucky home and am dedicated to see that region improve and grow.
