In high-school I played volleyball and was the team captain for all four years. I also enjoy all kinds of other sports. I was on the track team and was team captain for three years on that. I was involved in many community service organizations including PRIDE, Hands Off Tobacco, The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, UNITE, BETA Club, the Yearbook Committee, and I was president of the National Honor Society. Probably one of the most fun times in high-school was when I was elected prom queen.
At the University of Kentucky I am very involved with the First-Generation Living Learning Community and the events that they hold for their students. I am heavily involved with volunteering for the Robinson Scholars Program, and of course I love going to as many athletic events as possible. I am an education major and I plan on becoming a middle school social studies and English teacher. I love the University of Kentucky because it is giving me the opportunity to broaden my educational horizons and I am living life to the fullest.
The Robinson Scholars Program literally means everything to me. It has given me opportunities that I would never have gotten to participate in otherwise. The program made my transition from high-school to college as easy as possible and it helped me form a bond with my fellow classmates that will never be broken.
