In high-school I played volleyball and participated in the Skills USA Debate Team. The Robinson Scholars Program motivated me to keep my grades up and take on challenging courses to prepare me for my University of Kentucky future. I am currently majoring in Social Work because I want to be able to take the skills that I learn in college and apply them to my home region of eastern Kentucky, where I believe I can do the most good.
I love the University of Kentucky. My freshmen year in college was the best year of my life. I have been a part of some really amazing communities on campus, most notably the Robinson Scholars family and other being my Baptist Collegiate Ministry family. I do not feel alone here, in fact I feel more supported than ever. While I have been at the University of Kentucky I have been exposed to some really amazing experiences and I know there will be so much more to come. The Robinson Scholars Program means so much more to me than simply a scholarship or for money. God has blessed me with a family when He put the program and these people in my life. They are a great support system and an even better group of friends.
