QEP Message from former President, Dr. Lee Todd
For those who have been around for previous SACSCOC reviews, this one offers the University a new challenge. The process now requires institutions to design a quality enhancement plan (QEP) aimed at improving student learning or the environment for learning within the University. The guidelines provided by SACSCOC stipulate that the entire QEP process should be a bottom-up effort, with all areas of the campus community represented in the formulation and implementation of our plan. That is where we will need your help. We do not intend to design this QEP simply because it is a SACSCOC requirement. We feel that this process provides us the opportunity to engage the entire University community in a healthy and open conversation about the future of education at UK. I view this as a transformational moment, providing us the opportunity to harness the innovation and creativity alive and well in all corners of this campus to create a more dynamic University. It is my belief that if this QEP is going to be successful - and I am confident it will be - that we need to hear from all of our stakeholders. Whether you are a current student, a faculty or staff member, an alumnus, or the parent of a future student, we want your input and feedback. In the weeks and months ahead, you will hear more about the development of the QEP. The QEP Topic Selection Team has been charged with gathering input and feedback from across the UK community. When you hear from a QEP Topic Selection Team member, I encourage you to provide them your thoughts and ideas. I look forward to hearing your suggestions. Together, I know that we will make a UK education more valuable than ever before. Sincerely, Lee T. Todd, Jr. President
