FIRE NEWS
from Connie Vaughn, 18 May, 2001:

We are currently on the 18th floor of Patterson Office Tower. We are officially homeless and looking for space. We do have a couple of leads and should know something more definite within the next several days. When we have an actual place to hang our hats, I will let you know. For the moment, my telephone number is the same 257-7915.

Our office in the Administration Building was not burned, but it was flooded. I went back into the building briefly yesterday morning and everything is completely saturated. The documents people were there yesterday (along with our own Terry Birdwhistell). I sent all our hard-copy documents off with them to be dried out and "saved". We expect these to be returned to us within 3-4 weeks.

Fortunately, most of our material for the actual report was submitted electronically. As you submitted your drafts, I also forwarded them to Carlton Currens, so we haven't lost anything there.

ALSO, I know I have nagged and nagged about the supporting documentation, and I also know that most of you wanted to hang on to your documents until you finished your reports. So, I had received documents from only one committee (those documents are on their way to Chicago) -- AND THE REST OF YOU HADN'T TURNED IN ANYTHING! Thank goodness.
