James P. "Ike" Adams, Jr. is Dean and Dorothy A. Miller Professor in Social Work at the University of Kentucky College of Social Work. He recently served as Dean of the School of Social Work, and Executive Assistant to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Alabama. Prior to serving as Executive to the Provost, he was Assistant to the President and Director of Economic and Community Affairs at the University, where he linked community leaders to resources at the University to facilitate economic growth and community development.
Dean Adams is currently a Commissioner for the Council on Social Work Education Commission on Accreditation, and co-chair of the National Association of Deans and Directors Gerontological Task Force.
