Message from the Dean

Dean The College of Social Work aspires to educate and prepare social workers to be the best in the country. Our faculty are committed to the individual growth of our students, and to developing habits of mind and heart for each to attain their own personal goals.

In preparation to help achieve these goals, we have designed a challenging curriculum to educate students for direct practice, a field education program offering students close supervision and challenging opportunities to work with diverse populations, and a research program aimed at helping solve real world problems.

Our College has cultivated partnerships with state and local agencies and community groups with new and innovative continuing education programs that complement our educational and research agendas. We have a strong commitment to the special needs of people in Kentucky, in rural areas throughout Appalachia and distinguished alumni through Kentucky and the nation who support the College goals.

I hope the information on our Website provides you with answers to your questions, but also with a sense of the enthusiasm everyone associated with the College shares about the quality of our programs and the future of the College. Please visit us in person to get a deeper sense of what our College has to offer. I look forward to seeing you.
