La Universidad Latina de America
La Universidad Latina de America (UNLA) is a private university in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico. It primary mission is community service, specifically to aid and develop the city of Morelia and the state of Michoacan. The University of Kentucky has entered into an academic exchange agreement with UNLA and will begin to offer UK academic courses as well as community-based programs for continuing education (CEU’s) in the summer, 2008. UNLA is interested in the involvement of the entire university – all departments and degree programs in the academic programming with UK. The UNLA faculty will frequently assist the UK faculty in the teaching of courses as well as the conduct of international research. This orientation will encourage UK to continue to expand its academic and community-based course and program offerings on the UNLA campus in the future. Program participants will have the opportunity and benefit of being considered as students at UNLA when they participate in one of UK’s programs. Each UK participant will be issued an UNLA photo ID. UNLA provides a secure campus and full access to their facilities and resources including language labs, classrooms, internet and computers and library.
