Description: Through an interagency service agreement with the Department of Child Safety DCS, Arizona State University’s Center for Applied Behavioral Health Policy (CABHP) provides administrative support and oversees the operation of the Arizona Citizen Review Panel Program. As part of the interagency service agreement, CABHP provides a CRP Program Coordinator who works directly with DCS and the DCS liaison to fulfill federal requirements identified in CAPTA regarding the CRPs.

Arizona has three active regional Citizen Review Panels. The panel members are committed volunteers comprised of private citizens and professionals who take an active role in helping influence, support, and advocate for children and families. Each panel meets quarterly and a defined process is utilized for panel members to collect, review, assess and discuss confidential information about DCS cases, policies, procedures, practice, data and other information the CRP uses to develop recommendations to improve the child welfare system.
