Funding:               $25,000 per panel from CAPTA funds. The California Department of Social Services, Office of Child Abuse Prevention, is the lead agency for the CAPTA federal grant. The functions of OCAP include oversight of the panels, technical assistance and allocation of funds.

Brief Description:

California has three county panels. The panels include Calaveras County, San Mateo County and Ventura County. Each panel has a chairperson/coordinator responsible for assisting the panel members in following through with the meeting and reporting requirements.

Reviewing the child welfare system and making recommendation to improve child protection policies across the state.
Continuing efforts to develop knowledge and understanding about the challenges faced by the child welfare system.
Examining options to mitigate the difficulties associated with child welfare services recipients accessing available services.
Enhancing CRP’s outreach efforts so that interested parties are aware of the CRPs and their work.
