CRB - 36 CR Boards around state with 180 volunteers, with a State Advisory Committee (SAC) composed of a representative from each board, their elected officers and regional representatives, and 3 public members appointed by governor.
CRB - Extensive data collection on each child at each review (CRB reviews all children in state’s custody - in fiscal year 2009-2010, 2720 child reviews were held - due to abuse and neglect through written case information and through questioning "Interested Parties" in each case). SAC's Research and Investigation subcommittee conducts surveys and interviews with various parties involved in the system such as district attorneys, medical personnel, school personnel, law enforcement, department personnel (Children, Youth, and Families), etc. Data and research results are used to do Annual Reports and Interim Reports spotlighting single issues. SAC (general and executive) meets a total of six times a year with some subcommittees meeting additional times.
CRP – CR Boards meet most of the CR Panel requirements. New Mexico will continue to improve its process to meet all of the requirements.
