Biography

Dr. Craig received his B.A. in psychology and sociology from Bowling Green State University (1991), his M.S.S.A. from Case Western Reserve University (1993), and his doctorate in Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2005). Dr. Craig is a state Licensed Clinical Social Worker (L.C.S.W.) and has his Diplomate in Clinical Social Work certification from NASW. Prior to receiving his doctorate, Dr. Craig worked as a clinical social worker for five years with the Veterans Administration Medical Centers in the Detroit and Cleveland localities where he received several outstanding awards for his clinical work.

His current research and publications focuses on child victimization, populations traumatized by genocide, and psychometric scale development. Dr. Craig is a faculty associate of the Center for the Study of Violence against Children. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW), Society for Social Work Research (SSWR), Council for Social Work Education (CSWE), and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS). He has presented research at national and international conferences, published in peer-reviewed journals, and mentors student trainees.
