Master’s Program (MSW)

The College of Social Work at the University of Kentucky offers an innovative and exciting MSW curriculum based on ethical imperatives, research to practice and sound assessments and interventions. Its aim is to equip MSW graduates for the tasks and responsibilities they will encounter in professional Social Work Practice. The MSW program is accredited by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE) and has been since 1970. The next CSWE review and site visit will occur in 2018-19. For more information about accreditation please contact the Office of the Dean at heather.bosworth@uky.edu.

Our MSW program is open to all undergraduate degrees and may be completed full time or part time, beginning in the fall. The program offers two concentrations-Clinical Social Work and Community and Social Development. In addition, students may complete certificates in School Social Work, Gerontology, and Developmental Disabilities.

Students may attend classes on UK’s main campus in Lexington, at Morehead State University, or at the UK Center for Excellence in Rural Health-Hazard in Southeast Kentucky.
