Purpose
Successful Transitions is a supportive service program for UK students who receive Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program (KTAP) benefits. The program exists to support students in their pursuit of education while balancing work and family life.
The program offers a variety of services to the student including, but not limited to, the following:
- Work-study opportunities
- Volunteer opportunities
- Tutoring referrals
- Job training and preparation
- Job shadowing opportunities
- Resource referrals
- Financial assistance for post-graduate exams
- Video/Book lending library
- Life Skills workshops
Mission Statement
This grant funded program is provided through partnership with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and UK Training Resource Center. Our mission is to ensure students’ academic success as well as current and future employability.
Participant requirements
Students qualify for the program if they meet these criteria:
- Student is receiving KTAP benefits
- Student is a full time student at the University of Kentucky
- Student maintains a 2.0 cumulative grade point average
