Group Fitness Classes
The Bernard Johnson Student Recreation Center offers a variety of classes throughout the year including hi/low aerobics‚ step aerobics‚ muscle conditioning‚ yoga‚ spinning‚ pilates‚ and more! Each class is designed and taught by trained instructors to help individuals of varying fitness levels and capabilities work towards their optimal level of fitness. Classes are taught in one of two multi–purpose aerobic studios. Call (859) 257–3928 for more information.

Class Descriptions
20/20/15
This total body conditioning class involves 20 minutes of basic step – perfect for beginners and experienced steppers – followed by 20 minutes of floor cardio‚ including kickboxing and hi–lo. This class concludes with 15 minutes of body sculpting. If you are looking for a challenge and great results‚ this complete workout is for you!
Body Blast
This class will offer challenges to push your body to a new level! You will use dumbbells‚ a body bar‚ resistance tubing‚ a stability ball‚ and more to target all of the major muscle groups of the body!
Core Blast
This power–packed class trains and strengthens the core; including the abdominal and back muscles.
Group Cycling
This intense workout incorporates basic cycling moves‚ cardio‚ and strength based on time‚ speed‚ and recovery. Be sure to bring a towel and a water bottle!
Endurance Ride
The same intense group cycling workout only for 90 minutes!
Kickboxing
Try a high impact‚ total body cardiovascular workout designed after Martial Arts and traditional boxing. This session incorporates both lower and upper body exercises ensuring to raise your heart rate. All fitness levels welcome.
Step & Sculpt
Get a total body workout with this intense combination of a cardio workout and a variety of strengthening exercises. This class is sure to improve coordination‚ endurance‚ and strength.
Step Intervals
Spice it up and take your cardio one “step” further with step intervals. This class will focus on intermediate/advanced step combinations presented with a variety of resistance and interval training methods.
Total Body Boot Camp
Get your body in great shape and increase your fitness level with this high intensity class! Total Body Boot Camp consists of a variety of workouts. From cardio drills to strength training‚ this class is a fun filled workout and is guaranteed to give you the results you want just in time for summer. Great for all fitness levels.
Yoga
Unite your mind‚ body‚ and spirit through this discipline of rhythmic movement‚ breathing techniques‚ and deep relaxation.

- Aerobic classes may be changed according to demand.
- All classes are on a first come‚ first serve basis.
- Any class that has less than 3 participants for 3 consecutive weeks could be dropped from the schedule.
