Golf Singles

BCTC Students

Note to BCTC Students: Beginning with the fall semester of 2006‚ BCTC students are no longer automatically eligible for participation in UK Intramural activities and other Campus Recreation programs.

  • To become eligible‚ BCTC students must pay the Recreation Fee.
  • The Recreation Fee can be paid by eligible BCTC students at www.uky.edu/UK-eStore along with fees for other UK programs.
  • For information about paying the Recreation Fee‚ becoming eligible for Campus Recreation programs and joining the Campus Rec programs‚ please call the Campus Recreation main office at (859) 257–3928 or stop by Monday through Friday between 7am and 6pm to the main office located in the Johnson Center.

General Information

  • Valid UK or BCTC Student and Faculty/Staff IDs required for participation in UK Intramural events.
  • Tee time is forfeit time. Tee times will be posted as early as possible for player convenience and planning. Tee times run between 12 noon and 2pm on tournament days.
  • Singles scores will count for only one singles division.
  • A player may play on a same sex doubles team and a co–rec doubles team. Any players playing in both divisions will have to play both tournament days‚ playing and paying for two separate rounds. Please acknowledge that you are playing in both doubles tournaments for scheduling purposes.
  • Substitutions may be made before tournament play. Once a player has teed off‚ he or she may not be replaced in the tournament.
  • No alcohol is permitted at the tournament. Players with alcohol will be removed from the course and tournament.

Single Format
Fall Event

  • Individual competition‚ not team competition.
  • 18–hole tournament.

Etiquette

  • Proper golf etiquette shall be observed. For example:
    • Don’t move‚ talk or stand too close to or directly behind a player making a stroke.
    • Don’t play until the group in front is out of the way.
    • Play without delay as much as possible. Leave the putting green as soon as all players in your group have holed out.
    • Invite faster groups to play thorough.
    • Don’t drop clubs on the putting greens.
  • Please leave the course in the condition in which you’d like to find it. For examples:
    • Replace divots.
    • Smooth out bunkers of footprints.
    • Replace flagsticks in an upright position.

General Play

  • Tee off within two club–lengths of the front edges of the tee–markers.
  • In stroke play and team play‚ the ball farthest from the green is played first.
  • The competitor(s) with the lowest score on a hole tees off first on the next hole.
  • Play the course as you find it. Don’t improve your lie‚ the area of your intended swing or your line of play or a reasonable extension of that line beyond the hole by moving‚ bending or breaking anything fixed or growing.
