Career Counseling

For many students‚ feelings of frustration and confusion about career plans are commonplace. The Counseling & Testing Center provides group and individual services to help students deal with career indecision‚ choosing a major‚ and making plans for tomorrow’s world and their future.

A staff psychologist at the Counseling & Testing Center will be in 203 Frazee Hall to speak with students and assign the on–line “Strong Interest Inventory” – a 40–minute career “test” designed to help students identify preferred majors‚ motivating work environments‚ and potential career interest areas. Although test results are not available on the day of testing‚ participants may make individual follow–up appointments with a psychologist at the center approximately one week later to receive their results in individual interpretation/discussion sessions. There is no charge for this service.

Students who cannot attend the listed times but would still like to use the career testing and interpretation services can make individual appointments with a psychologist at the Counseling & Testing Center.

Students needing this information for a class assignment should allow at least two to three weeks lead time for appointments. Missed sessions may result in appointments being rescheduled after the end of the semester.

Career Testing Workshops will be conducted at 203 Frazee Hall on the following afternoons in the Spring 2008 semester:
