CONSTITUTION OF THE INTER-GREEK PROGRAMMING ASSEMBLY
OF THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY

ARTICLE I (Name)

The name of this organization shall be the "Inter-Greek Programming Assembly."

ARTICLE II (Mission)

The mission of the Inter-Greek Programming Assembly shall be as follows:

Section I. Regulate and schedule all programming that is sponsored for the Greek Community.

Section II. Unify the Greek Governing Councils of the Interfraternity Council (IFC)‚ the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)‚ and the Panhellenic Council (PC).

Section III. Coordinate all joint-programming efforts of IFC‚ NPHC‚ and PC‚ such as the following: Greek Week‚ G-PAC‚ Sophomore Leadership Retreat‚ Spring Leadership Retreat‚ Greek Symposiums‚ etc.

ARTICLE III (Membership)

The Inter-Greek Programming Assembly will consist of an executive board of 21 members‚ created to the following specifications:

Section I. Fifteen (15) members selected by the membership committee in the spring semester prior to the year of office (membership committee is a panel whose composition is defined in Article IV‚ "Selection Procedures" Section I). The fifteen members that constitute the IGPA will breakdown as follows: five (5) members selected from candidates applying from chapter governed by the IFC; five (5) members selected from candidates applying from chapters covered by the NPHC; and five (5) members selected from candidates applying from chapters governed by the PC.

Section II. One (1) delegate nominated from each of the Greek Governing Councils (IFC‚ NPHC‚ PC)‚ appointed in the fall semester of the year of office. This member shall serve as a liaison between the IGPA and the respective Greek Governing Council.

Section III. The three (3) non-voting advisors of the IFC‚ NPHC‚ and PC.

Section IV. Attendance: attendance of IGPA meeting is mandatory. Excused absences shall be defined as those that are also excused by the UK Code of Student Conduct. Any other absence is unexcused. Two unexcused absences per semester will result in the expulsion from the IGPA (See also Article VIII‚ "Vacancies"). The excuses for absences must be turned in to the IGPA secretary at least one day prior to the meeting. Review of membership status and any special circumstances will by the responsibility of the IGPA Executive Board (See Article VI‚ Section IV‚ "Executive Board"). Such review will occur following two absences.

ARTICLE IV (Selection Procedures)

Section I. Applications for membership to the IGPA will be made available to all Greeks whose cumulative grade point average is above the average of their respective council. A candidate must submit a completed application by April l‚ and then be interviewed by the selection committee.

Section II. The selection committee will be comprised of the following people:

Section III. The selection committee shall seek to create an IGPA from the pool of candidates that will represent all sizes of chapters‚ small to large. Also‚ it shall create an assembly that equally represents Greeks of variety of ages‚ from freshmen to seniors.

ARTICLE V (Funding)

Section I. The IGPA will receive from each Greek Governing Council a fee of One (1) dollar per chapter member‚ for each semester.

Section III.

Section IV. Executive Board

An Executive Board for the IGPA shall exist for the purpose of reviewing the membership status of members who accumulate two absences during one semester. The member in question shall be given a chance to appear before the Executive Board to defend the excuses that they submitted in compliance with Article III‚ Section IV "Attendance." At this time the excuses will be evaluated as an officially excused absence of not officially excused. Membership will be evaluated by the standards set forth in Article III‚ Section IV‚ "Attendance."

The Judicial Board will consist of the elected officers of the IGPA‚ with the Chair serving as the head of the board.

Section V. Members-at-large

It is the responsibility of the Members-at-large to attend every meeting of the IGPA‚ and actively participate in standing and special meetings.

ARTICLE VII (Voting)

Section I. Voting privileges will be extended to all IGPA members in the following circumstances;

  1. Screening and Approval of Events: each member will be entitled to one vote in the screening and final approval of events brought before the IGPA
  2. Election of Officers: each member will be entitled to one vote in the election of new officers
  3. Any other circumstances requiring a vote to decide an issue
ARTICLE VIII (Vacancies)

Section I. Any vacancy of a member-at-large position of the IGPA will be filled at the discretion of the Executive Board through the membership selection process defined in Article IV

Section II. Any vacancy of an officer position will be filled by a member-at-large. This will occur via a vote of the current IGPA‚ with the candidate receiving the highest vote total receiving the office (see also Article VII‚ Section I‚ Sub-Section B‚ "Election of Officers).

Section III. Any vacancy of a delegate from a Greek Governing Council shall be filled by a process conducted by that governing council.

ARTICLE IX (Amendments)

Section I. All requests for changes to the Constitution must be submitted to the Vice Chair. The Constitution may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the IGPA.

Section II. All requests for a review of the IGPA Policies must be submitted to the Vice Chair between October 1 and November 30 regarding changes to be implemented in the spring semester‚ and between February 15 and April 2 regarding changes to be implemented for the fall semester. The IGPA Policies may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the IGPA.
