Policy for Fraternity
and Sorority Permits
Fraternities
- Members of fraternities who
live in fraternity houses located on the U.K. campus will be eligible to
apply for permits for fraternity parking lots. Only fraternity house
residents who have vehicles will be eligible to apply for a fraternity
permit, and may park only in the fraternity lot to which they have been
assigned.
- Individual residents
desiring parking should make sure their chapter presidents include them on
the "Chapter Status" report as living in the chapter house. The
"Chapter Status" report must be submitted to 575 Patterson
Office Tower by August 28, 2009.
- Assignment to fraternity lots
will be controlled by the Dean of Students Office.
- Only those fraternity members
whose names appear on a listing provided to Parking & Transportation
Services by the Dean of Students Office may purchase the R4, R11, R12, or
R14 permit, as designated on the eligibility listings.
- Parking permits will be
issued at Parking Services, Parking Structure #6, located at 721 Press
Avenue, one semester at a time. New eligibility listings will be provided
for the spring semester. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00
p.m.
- The cost of permits for
2009-2010 will be $116 per semester, payable by cash, check, or
Visa/MasterCard.
- Permits are required
beginning August 24, 2009 ,
to park in a fraternity lot. Temporary permits (dated Aug. 24-Sept. 7)
will be issued to the chapter presidents for chapter distribution.
- Fraternity members
who have been issued an R4, R11, R12, or R14 permit must return the permit
to Parking Services if he withdraws from the University, moves from the
fraternity house, or becomes otherwise ineligible. Permits are
non-transferable. Refunds for returned R4, R11, R12, and R14 permits will
be issued on a pro rata basis.

safety needs. The chapter presidents must submit the list of those with
the most safety need to dean.west@uky.edu
by noon on August 12, 2009.
