We cannot wait to see you in August!

We have been preparing for your arrival and are very excited to see you in the fall! K Week, the fall welcome week for all new students, is designed to make your transition to UK and to college life as smooth as possible. You will have the opportunity to attend a wide variety of sessions, events, and social activities to help you get to know campus better, find answers to your questions, and make new friends. We want you to have fun and learn about your new home!

As a new student on campus, there's no need to worry about who you will attend K Week events with. All new students are assigned to a K Team, a small group of 15-20 students led by a K Crew leader, an upperclass student leader. Your K Crew leader will meet you and the rest of your K Team at the K Week Kick-off on Friday, August 19 at 7 p.m. on the Johnson Center Fields. He or she will attend events with you and your K Team throughout K Week, and will serve as a resource for you on campus.

All new students assigned to K Teams are expected to attend K Team meetings and K Week events throughout the week together. Participating in a K Team allows you to form new friendships and develop a relationship with your K Crew leader.

If you are living on campus, you will receive the K Week 2016 Schedule of Events and information about K Week Kick-off when you check in to your residence hall.

If you are a new student living off campus, you should check in at the Off-campus Student Check-in on the Johnson Center Fields from 6 p.m. - 7 on Friday, August 19 to receive your schedule of events and K Team assignment.

If you are a transfer student and are interested in being assigned to a K Team or a transfer-specific K Team, you should also check in on the Johnson Center Fields between 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Friday, August 19.

When you arrive on Johnson Center Fields for your first two K Team meetings on Friday and Saturday evening, look for your K Team number on a sign. Your K Crew leader will be there waiting to meet you and the rest of your K Team!
