history of the common reading experience
The 2009-2010 academic year marks the inauguration of the Common Reading Experience. As the University strives toward Top-20 status, it continuously examines its efforts in improving new students' transition to campus and retaining them through a fulfilling collegiate experience. The Common Reading Experience is meant to support those efforts through campus wide intellectual programming. The first book selected for this year's program is James McBride's The Color of Water.
