k week discussion group assignment
Faculty and staff are encouraged to sign up to be Discussion Leaders for the Common Reading Experience. Discussion leaders will co-lead small-group conversations about the common book with a K Crew leader during K Week. These discussions will be held on Tuesday, August 25 from 10-11 a.m. at various locations across campus.
Discussion leaders will be provided the following resources:
- A complimentary copy of this year's book
- Training on facilitating engaging discussion and relating the book to first-year students
- Discussion materials (i.e. sample discussion questions)
K Crew members will receive a list of the students assigned to their K Team, or small group, after Merit Weekends and Summer Advising Conferences, and will communicate with them throughout the summer. The K Crew will inform students of where their group discussions will take place. Discussion Leaders will be informed of their assigned K Crew leader and the location of their discussion session via UK e-mail prior to the start of K Week.
