Lauren Goodpaster
Director of New Student & Parent Programs

Lauren Goodpaster joined the office in July 2012 as Director of New Student and Parent Programs. In collaboration with the entire staff and student leadership team, Lauren oversees the coordination of K Week, the University's annual welcome week. In addition, she assists the associate dean with the UK 101/201 academic orientation course, including training and developing the peer instructors. She also works with the University's Common Reading Experience, including coordinating the selection committee and facilitating its programming committee. Lauren graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama and received her master's degree in higher education from UK. She loves spending time with her husband and their three sons, who all keep her life exciting!

Nancy Stephens

In her role as Assistant Director of New Student and Parent Programs, Nancy Stephens coordinates the UK Parent Association, plans UK's Family Weekend, advises the K Book Ambassadors, and assists with K Week and the K Crew. Nancy is a graduate of Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. She received a master's degree in higher education from UK. Nancy and her husband enjoy spending time with their son, traveling, and cheering on the Cats.

Debbie has been the Administrative Services Assistant for the New Student and Parent Program office since April 2001. Debbie is happily married to her husband of 24 years and the proud mom of three wonderful kids. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and attending church. Whenever possible, she loves vacationing at the beach with her family.

Christie Baughman

As a graduate assistant for New Student and Parent Programs, Christie assists with K Week and the K Crew and helps coordinate the Common Reading Experience. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and held many leadership positions in the Office of New Student and Parent Programs as an undergraduate. Christie is currently working on her master's degree in counseling psychology.
