welcome to OCSS
Whether you're a fresh first-year student, a seasoned junior or a
veteran graduate/professional student, living off campus can be a challenge.
While the freedoms that come with off-campus living are many, so are the
responsibilities. Leases, utilities, ordinances, commuting . . . these issues
and more add to what can be an already stressful academic experience. The
Office of Off-Campus Student Services (OCSS) is here to help you navigate
the challenges and issues that accompany living off campus. This website
should be your starting point for accessing information, answering questions
and making connections related to living outside the confines of the University.
If you're planning to be in Lexington for fewer than 6 months, many
of the traditional housing options presented on the Housing
Locator will not meet your needs. Though there may be a few Housing
Locator listings available for short-term housing, you may also wish to
consult with the special page set up for Short-Term
2013-14 UK Renter's Guide
This publication is provided by UK Student Government and UK Off-Campus Student Services in order to make your search for off-campus housing easier and to help you make more informed decisions in the leasing process. This publication will provide you with data and comments regarding the perceived level of service tenants received from property management companies/landlords who rent to large numbers of students. The results were compiled through a survey of UK students living in the Lexington community. The survey was administered by UK Student Government and UK Off-Campus Student Services during the Fall 2013 Semester. You can access the 2013-14 publication here. You can access the 2012-13 version here and the 2011-12 version here.
