our mission
The Office of Off-Campus Student Services (OCSS) provides support and services to University of Kentucky students who choose not to live in University residential facilities. The OCSS creates resources, programs and solutions that assist off-campus students in developing and maintaining positive connections with the University, the neighborhoods in which they live and the greater Lexington community.
our focus
- Skill development, student independence and good citizenship.
- Services, resources and programs which promote an understanding of the rights and responsibilities that accompany living and working within the greater Lexington community.
- Community outreach and partnerships. The office works as both a student advocate and a University and city liaison in order to improve relations between students and the city, permanent residents in areas where students rent property, landlords and other parties.
- Services related to off-campus housing. The office provides resources to help students make informed decisions about off-campus housing while advocating, promoting and encouraging attention to fire and other life safety issues.
