Dear UK Parents and Families,
Welcome to the University of Kentucky! We are so pleased that your student has chosen UK and that you are a part of the Wildcat Family! The UK Parent Association is here to help you and your family throughout your student's undergraduate career. With timely programs and publications, UKPA will let you know what is happening on campus and what opportunities are available to help your student enhance his or her experience at UK. We are the only organization on campus solely dedicated to the needs of UK parents and families!
All parents and guardians of UK undergraduate students are members of the Parent Association. There are no membership fees for our programs, publications, and services. Please browse the links on the left for more detailed information about UKPA services and how you can support them.
All parents and guardians are asked to register with the UK Parent Association by providing the following information: parent/guardian name, home address and phone number, e-mail address, UK student name(s), and student academic year (freshman, sophomore, etc.). Parents who are alumni of UK are asked to report that as well. There is no cost to register, and this information is for UK Parent Association use only. If you have any questions about registration, please send an e-mail to parents@lsv.uky.edu or call (859) 257-6597. Registering ensures that you will receive important information from the Parent Association, including the Cat Chat e-mail newsletter.
Whenever you have a question or concern, you can turn to the Parent Association for help. We realize that UK is a large campus and can be confusing for those who are not familiar with its structure. When you contact the Parent Association, you can be assured that your question will be answered in a timely manner or you will be referred to the campus office that can best answer your question. You can reach the Parent Association Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. by calling (859) 257-6597 or e-mailing parents@lsv.uky.edu. Do not hesitate to contact us whenever we can be of assistance.
We wish you, your UK student, and your family the best during the 2008 - 2009 school year, and we hope to see you at Family Weekend on October 10 - 12, 2008!
With best wishes on behalf of the UK Parent Association,
Nancy Stephens
Assistant Director of New Student and Parent Programs
Parent Association Coordinator
