The Arts Community
The ROTC Living Learning Community is a joint effort between the Office of Residence Life and The University of Kentucky's ROTC Program. Although the LLC is open to all students interested in the study of military leadership, preference will be given to those who have registered for one of the ROTC (Army or Air Force) Programs at UK. As a land grant institution, the University of Kentucky has been producing military leaders since it was founded in 1865. ROTC as an organization has been continuously represented at UK since 1917. This long and rich history has graduated hundreds of leaders for our country's Army and Air Force.
The ROTC LLC is designed to enhance the first-year experience and provide a foundation in ROTC leadership training. First-year cadets will live together in Blanding Tower and build strong relationships with fellow cadets, mentors, and leaders. Regular team-building and leadership development activities will take place in the common space around Blanding Tower. Located conveniently to the Seaton Center, cadets will participate in physical training 3 days each week to enhance physical strength and endurance. This LLC also provides cadets with the opportunity to learn more about each other and each service through social opportunities in a non-classroom atmosphere. This community is truly an extraordinary way to connect with others who have a strong commitment to leadership.
