Important Information for BCTC Students
Health Fee Infomation & Deadlines through Summer 2008

The University Health Service Student Health Fee is not charged to your tuition bill, which means you will not automatically be covered by the Health Fee. You are eligible to purchase it, however, under the following circumstances:

Eligibility
Based upon a decision by KCTCS and BCTC, BCTC students are eligible to purchase the Student Health Fee:

- if they are enrolled for six hours or more per semester, including the summer session, and
- their campus location is the Cooper Drive, Regency Road or Winchester campus.

In order to be covered by the Student Health Fee for the Spring 2008 semester, BCTC students who are eligible will have to pay the health fee, using the UK e-Store, by January 23, 2008. For information on how to pay the health fee, please call (859) 323-5823, ext 233.

Services are available on a fee-for-service (self-pay) basis to BCTC students who do not pay the Health Fee.

BCTC students who pay the Health Fee are entitled to receive the covered services. University Health Service (UHS) provides primary care, gynecology (women's health services) mental health counseling and health promotion and prevention services. Some of the services your Health Fee provides include the following:

- unlimited office visits with the medical staff for illness or injury
- gynecology services
- mental health services
- some medications
- access to the phone information nurse
- an after hours on-call physician
- tuberculin skin testing
- well-patient physical examinations
- allergy injections
