The VIP Center works with faculty, staff and administrators in several ways.
Consultation: is available via phone, email or in person for any staff person at UK who has concerns or questions regarding the issue of power-based personal violence. VIP can provide guidance on how to respond to a student or colleague that has confided they are being impacted by violence—or suggestions for how to best incorporate the topic into classes.
Staff Training: VIP can provide any length presentation at staff or faculty meetings. Topics have included: overview of the state of prevention/intervention efforts at UK; concrete information about how staff can actively contribute to prevention efforts; ervices that are available through VIP to students, faculty and staff; how to respond to someone who confides that they have experienced violence.
New Employee Orientation: VIP staff presents an overview of VIP services and ways to get involved at every new staff orientation.
Programming: VIP staff responds weekly to staff/faculty requests to provide programming and educational presentations to their classes, groups or organizations.
