My life is Fantasia on crack.
I don’t know what I would do if two weeks went by and no dramatic shift in my world occurred. When I was 12 years old, I prayed perhaps one of the sincerest prayers of my life, “God, please don’t ever let my life be boring.” And boring it has not been. My work at VIP is just as crazy and random as the rest of my life, and I love it. My personal mission in life is for people to not only care about the prevalence of violence, but to recognize that each one of us have an incredible contribution to make. That even if you never set foot inside VIP, that you understand that just by looking out for each other and helping keep each other safe, you are helping alter the course of violence, that if you just check in with your friend to make sure she is ok, you are making a statement that in your world violence is not ok and it is certainly not tolerated.
