Student participation is at the forefront of the Violence Intervention and Prevention Center strategic plan to address violence against women and gender equity on campus. At the Violence Intervention and Prevention Center‚ students are highly valued and respected for the great amounts of time‚ energy‚ and insight they provide to our organization. On any given day there can be from two to twenty students working around the office to support an upcoming program and keep the center operating. Volunteering at the Violence Intervention and Prevention Center is a great opportunity to meet other students and make friends. Student Service Team Volunteers provide daily support at the Violence Intervention and Prevention Center. Whether you want to volunteer an hour each week or 10 hours each week‚ there is always a lot going on – and you will always find yourself in good company! Members of this team may find themselves completing anything from hanging fliers throughout campus‚ looking up requested information on the internet‚ giving input into an upcoming project‚ or answering the telephone. This daily support provides the very foundation that the work of the Violence Intervention and Prevention Center is built upon!

This is a time for the new volunteer to get to know the Violence Intervention and Prevention Center staff‚ what goes on at the Violence Intervention and Prevention Center‚ and ask any questions.
