Borrowers need to state the terms of the dispute in writing to the Student Loan Office. If the Loan Office is unable to resolve the dispute, borrowers may seek assistance from the Department of Education’s Student Loan Ombudsman. The Ombudsman may be contacted at (877) 557-2575 toll free or on-line at www.ombudsman.ed.gov.
