About the UK American Civil Liberties Union

We are a non-profit, non-partisan student organization dedicated to the preservation of civil rights and civil liberties enshrined in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. We have worked on campus, in the Lexington community, and in the Kentucky legislature to keep our liberty from being eroded.

The UK ACLU fights for:

First Amendment rights, including freedom of speech, association, and assembly, freedom of the press, and freedom of religion, as supported by the strict seperation of church and state.

The right to the equal protection of the law, regardless of race, sex, creed, sexual preference, physical status, or nation of origin.

The right to due process when dealing with any portion of the government.

The right to keep your private possessions, opinions, and actions private.
