The meeting served as an update on progress made by UK following last spring's racial tensions.In addition, the Inclusive Learning Community team was invited by AWARE to give its recommendations for improving diversity on campus.
The team, a group of administrators, faculty and students, was formed after last spring's tensions.
The team recommend adding a session on race relations and diversity to UK 101.
The team also recommended studying issues of inclusiveness and developing a racial harassment policy for campus.
Angelo Witten, AWARE chairperson, said the Inclusive Learning Community team's recommendations should be made accessible to interested individuals in the near future.
The meeting, held at the Student Center, drew around 30 people. The next meeting will be Oct. 7 in 228 Student Center.
