History

The University of Kentucky Cricket Club UKCC was founded in 1995 by a group of energetic and enthusiastic cricketers. University of Kentucky awarded the Club a nice, green play ground, by the Agriculture Building on Nicholasville Road for its use. The Club instantly gained recognition in the cricket circles with its achievements.

Year 1998

The team performed very well in the Mid-West Cricket tournament, but unfortunately the dream 7-1 season came to an end with a loss to Cleveland Cricket Club in the Finals, on Sunday, 8/30/98. We beat The University of Cincinnati in the Semi-Finals on Saturday, 8/29/98 and Troy in the Quarter Finals.

Year 2001

The team reached Finals of the Mid-West Cricket Tournament and lost to Everest Cricket Club (ECC). The team defeated the Ohio State University (OSU) team in the Semi Finals.

Year 2002

The team reached Quarter Finals of the Mid-West Cricket Tournament and lost to Ohio State University (OSU). The team however defeated the Cuyahoga team in the Pre-quarter Finals.

Year 2003

The team reached Quarter Finals of the Mid-West Cricket Tournament and lost to Purdue. The team defeated Everest Cricket Club (ECC) by 142 runs in the Pre-quarter Finals.

Year 2005

The team chased 220 runs in the Pre-quarter Finals of the Mid-West Cricket Tournament against the Nationwide 2 team. Unfortunately this run had to end in the Quarterfinals when the team lost to the Cincinnati team in the Quarter finals.

Year 2006

The team had a great season. UKCC reached Finals of Midwest Open Cricket League after defeating Kentucky Cricket Club in an exciting game by 3 wicket in Semi-Finals. UKCC chased 276 in 35 overs. Unfortunately UKCC lost to Great Dayton Cricket Club in Finals.
