Membership

Dance Ensemble will not discriminate against any person due to race, color, sex, or religious affiliation of belief. Membership is open to all current UK students who are selected from an audition to be held at the start of the Fall and Spring semesters. The number of new members is determined by the performance and technique level of those individuals auditioning.

Officers

The Ensemble has six student officers and a faculty director. All members are eligible for these student positions. Officers will be elected at the end of the Spring semester and will be in office for the next academic year. Election of officers is done by all members of Dance Ensemble. Offices include President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Publicity.

Technique Classes

The UK Dance Ensemble meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at the Barker Hall Dance Studio for technique classes. All members must attend at least two technique classes per week and are encouraged to enroll in the Modern Dance Classes, KHP 181 & 182. Around concert times, extra rehearsals are necessary and are arranged by the individual choreographers.

Dues

All members are required to pay $30 per semester in order to meet our matching funds requirement for our performances. If dues are not received by the Treasurer or Director by the specific date, the amount will increase.
