Our local churches

Southland Christian Church: Southland is a huge independent Christian church (of the Stone-Campbell restoration movement) with 5 weekend services totalling over several thousand people. Worship is contemporary in all services. The 6:08 service (at 6:08 PM on Sunday evenings) is specifically aimed at high schoolers and young adults. The Sunday messages at all services tend to be seeker-sensitive without being seeker-focused.

Service Times: Saturdays: 5:30 p.m., Sundays: 8:30 a.m, 10:00 a.m, 11:30 a.m., 6:08 p.m.

Tates Creek Presbyterian: Tates Creek is a medium-sized evangelical Presbyterian church (PCA). Worship at both Sunday morning services is traditional (mostly hymns and responsive readings with an occassional praise chorus). Many graduate students appreciate the thoughtful and well-researched sermons by Pastor Roukas (whose Greek hermeneutics are probably aided by the fact that he was born and raised in Greece). The Sunday messages are available online here. Quite a few graduate students attend Tates Creek and the church has various ministries aimed at the typical 22-35 year old graduate student age bracket (including a Sunday school and several small groups).

Service Times: 8:15 and 11:00 AM
Located off of Man O' War east of Tates Creek Road.
