::All About Green Thumb::

Q: What is Green Thumb, anyway? A: The Green Thumb Environmental Club is Kentucky's largest student environmental club (last we checked, anyway) and is dedicated to promoting programs and campaigns which benefit the environment on the University of Kentucky campus, in the city of Lexington, and the state of Kentucky as a whole. We are not, as you might assume, a gardening club (though gardeners are certainly welcome, some of us are into composting!)

Q: So, what does Green Thumb do? A: Lots! Our projects are..

Wildcat Wheels: Shiny yellow refurbished bikes in a variety of styles and sizes are available for free at Student Center (CatsDen M-F 9am-10pm) with a valud student ID. The check-out period is two days and all bikes are equipped with locks, some with baskets. Bikes are CLEANER, FASTER, CHEAPER, AND HEALTHIER than cars for campus and downtown transit!

Critical Mass: A group bike ride every Friday starting at 5:00 PM, to raise awareness for Lexington cyclists.(more specific information coming soon)

Earth Day Celebration:  Each year, Green Thumb participates in Earth Day activities.  In the past we have let students create their own planters and provided them with seed, hosted musical events, and much more.

This just in: This year's calendar for Earth Days in the Bluegrass!  There are TONS of great events happening this year, check it out!

Q: Who's in charge here? A: Our officers are.. (complete information coming soon)
