The Kentucky Jazz Repertory Orchestra (KJRO)
is a 17-member professional ensemble (even though the picture above
only shows 12 people!) dedicated to the preservation
and performance of jazz music.
KJRO is a band that is
especially suited for and highly skilled at recreating authentic
swing-era arrangements.
KJRO
members consists of
the finest and most talented faculty members, alumni and
musicians
from Kentucky area colleges and universities. |

Dick
Domek is a Professor of Music Theory at UK. His
research interests include jazz transcriptions and arranging,
composition, technology, musical style, and the analysis of jazz and
jazz styles, especially the
music of Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington.
Miles Osland is a
Professor of Saxophone and Director of Jazz Studies at UK. He is
well known as a distinguished music educator, recording and
performing artist, author, arranger and composer. |
