Interested in learning those great swing dances you've seen in the Movies and on TV? The UK Swing Dance Club is the place for you! Participation in club activities is open to ALL -- not just UK students. We sponsor a variety of activities, to include lessons and dances! Check out the various pages of this web site for more info!
The UK Swing Dance Club is available to assist your school, organization or civic group in demonstrating and teaching all the great things about swing dancing! The Club's members have provided DJ music, swing dance demonstrations, and lessons to a variety of organizations. Some of our activities include:

o Beaumont Middle School, Lexington, KY: Swing Dance demonstration & lessons to 6-8th graders. |

o Lexington Traditional Middle School: Swing Dance demonstration and lessons for 8th graders. |
| o Breckinridge Co. High School, Harned, KY: Swing Dance workshop and swing dance in preparation for Senior Prom. |
| o Frankfort, KY Area Arts Foundation, Swing Dance fundraiser: Swing Dance demonstration and lesson. |
| o Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, Lexington, KY: Swing Dance workshop for Cultural Arts Class. |
| o Tates Creek High School, Lexington, KY: Swing dance instruction for humanities class. |
| o Swingin' on Main, Lexington, KY: Co-sponsor of the event: coordinate live music, provide pre-dance lesson, & conduct dance competition. |
| o Friday Night Flicks, Jacobson Park, pre-movie activities: Swing Dance lesson & demonstrations. |
| o DJ and swing dance lesson for Nicholasville-Jessamine County Parks & Recreation annual swing dance at High Bridge Park, Outdoor Pavilion, High Bridge, KY. |
| o Downtown Lexington 4th of July festivities: Swing Dance demonstration. |
| o Provided dancers and character players for Lexington Philharmonic Ball, "Icons of Americana". |
| o Oldham County High School, Buckner, KY: Swing Dance Demonstration for Cultural Arts Class. |
| o UK Homecoming Gala: Swing Dance Demonstration. |
| o Scott County High School, Georgetown, KY: Swing Dance workshops for the HS swing dance club. |
| o Northern Elementary School, Lexington, KY: Swing Dance lesson and demonstration for Cultural Arts Class. Mary Richardson also taught over forty 4th and 5th graders the Shim Sham, which they performed for the school's annual spring arts events. The kids did great! |
| o Swing Dance lesson at Lafayette High School Band Association Annual Jazz Band fundraiser dinner & dance. |
| o Workshop for Berea College students and the local community. |
| o East Jessamine Co. High School, Nicholasville, KY: Swing Dance workshop for the HS swing dance club. |

DJ SERVICES. Tired of the same
ole' music you get from most so called "party" or "professional" DJs? Want music that's energetic
and fun for dancing and listening to? With thousands of songs from the Big Band era, Jump Blues, 50's rock
and roll, Rockabilly, 40's, 50's & 60's Rhythm & Blues, modern swing,
etc., the UK Swing Dance Club could DJ your next dance, party or event and get
toes a tappin' and feet a movin'!
Ask anybody that has attended a UK Swing Dance Club event: we have the
best music in town.
BANDS FOR DANCES. How about live music
for your next event? The UK Swing Dance Club is familiar with several
musical groups that really know how to play, not only for dances but for any
event (some of these groups have played for past UK Swing Dance Club
events). These groups include Big Band Orchestras, Jump Blues Bands,
Rockabilly Bands, etc. The UK Swing Dance would be happy to provide you
with information and help facilitate these groups performing at your event.

Got a party or an event coming up and want some Swing Dancers and lessons to liven and spice things up? The University of Kentucky Swing Dance Club can help you out! The Club has some of the best and hottest swing dancers in the Lexington and central Kentucky area. We can come and liven up the party or event or just add some atmosphere to the joint!
