What is Judo?
Judo is a Japanese style martial art, which consists of throwing, striking, pinning, joint locking, and strangulation techniques; all of which are governed by a principle of maximum efficiency. As a system of self-defense, Judo is matched by no other art. This is due not only to the effectiveness of the technique, but is also a result of the training methods employed. One such method essential to the study of Judo is termed randori. During randori Judo is practiced against a fully resisting opponent. Only techniques that cannot be practiced safely in this dynamic environment are omitted. The result is a familiarity and mastery of the art in a live environment. The Judoka is not left imagining what may happen in an altercation, but knows through personal experience the true nature of combat. The Judoka, through training, will dispatch with more opponents in a short time of study (Click Here for more)
