University of Kentucky - Alpha Gamma
Chapter
Meet your KDP Officers
Officer Responsibilities Document
President: Jessica Cunningham
My name is Jessica Cunningham, and I would like to run for President of the Alpha Gamma chapter of Kappa
Delta Pi because I strongly believe in the collaboration of undergraduate and graduate students to better
themselves as educators in addition to the community. Currently, I am a third year doctoral student in
Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation where my research is grounded in math and science teacher
education. In addition to being a charter Alpha Gamma KDP member and serving as last year’s chapter
secretary, I also had the honor of receiving the 2006 Ralph W. Tyler Laureate Doctoral Scholarship. I
stay actively involved in research organizations impacting teacher education. This year I have presented
at the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE), Mid-Western Education Research
Association (MWERA), and American Education Research Association (AERA) conferences. In addition, I serve
on the committee for the American Association for Employment in Education (AAEE). In the past, I have
been a Research Assistant for the Appalachian Math and Science (AMSP) grant, where I worked closely
with mathematics classroom teachers across Kentucky. Currently, I serve as a Research Assistant for a
project funded through the National Science Foundation – rooted in science education and technology in
addition to educational measurement and assessment. This research impacts teachers’ exploration of
effective methods to evaluate student learning and classroom teaching in conjunction with Hands on
Virtual Physics distance learning program.
I greatly appreciate your consideration for the upcoming President of the Alpha Gamma chapter of Kappa Delta Pi.
Vice President: Jennifer Eli

Graduate Student Representative for the KDP 2007 National Convocation Planning Committee. She is

Jennifer is committed to fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of the Office of Foundation
