Home History House Scholarship

Intramurals:

Every year Kappa participates in a wide variety of intramural sports offered by the University of Kentucky. So far this year we have particpated in soccer, flag football, swimming, volleyball, softball, water polo, and golf.
Our swimming Kappas did well and we recieved two 4th places and a 6th place. Flag Football seems to be the sport this year for the Kappas. Our dedicated football team and coaching staff led the KKG Football team to an undefeated regular season. The team always had great fan support from the rest of the chapter. Our cheerleaders and mascot attended the games faithfully and showed what great sisterhood the Kappas have!

Kappa's also participated in volleyball and softball this year. Volleyball was fun and we had two teams playing. One team made it to the semifinals in the tournament. Great job girls!

Softball has been a great experience for all involved, bringing together experienced players as well as those who have never played. We won our first game and are looking forward to the games to come. As always we had great fan support at both the volleyball and softball games. Thanks girls for coming out to support you sisters as they play intramurals!

Sisterhood Events:

Beta Chi loves to host sisterhood events every month as a way for us all to grow deeper in our bond of sisterhood. Some of the great sisterhood events that we have had in the past are:

Watching the Bachelor/Bachelorette at the house
Manicure and pedicure party
MAC/Mary Kay Makeup party
Going to see movies together including: Sweet Home Alabama, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and Dirty Dancing Havana Nights
Pre-Keeneland Brunch
Holdiay parties, etc.

Pledge Class Sisterhood Events:

Seniors camping at Red River Gorge

Each pledge class puts on sisterhood events to promote sisterhood within their pledge class. These have beena huge success this year with the freshman going to a Haunted House, the sophomores and juniors going to seea movie together, and the seniors going camping in Red River Gorge. They are a great way for us all to connect with those that we initiated with and to have fun at the same time!

Kore Group Olympics:

Every year when we first gain our new member class, the Beta Chi chapter organizes into different kores.
Each kore group consists of about 7-10 people and it is a great way for our chapter to get to know as many people as they can. Kore groups are like a small family within the chapter. This year we decided to have a Kore group Olympics which has been a huge success! Each group is named a different color and each group attends both Kappa, Greek, and university functions. Also, every week each group does something together.

Some of our weekly events have been going out for ice cream, going to starbucks, carving pumpkins, etc. The Kore Group Olympics has allowed our chapter to have fun while getting to know those within our chapter.

Date Parties:

Date Parties are a great way for us Kappas to let loose and have some fun on the dance floor. The Kappas have had an awesome time this year at our many date parties. Some of the themes for this year have been Toga, Caddyshack, In the Jungle. We are looking forward to this year's Spring Formal where we all get glammed up and dance all night long!
