"This award is designed to recognize an outstanding service project(s) a chapter(s) has completed for its(their) band program. Chapters wishing to compete for this award must submit a report on the two-page form available from the District Officers or in the District Guidelines. During the District Convention, each competing chapter must make a five minute presentation followed by a five minute question-and-answer session to the judging committee, composed of District Officers and History and Traditions Committee members, in closed session. All awards are based on the following questions:

• What was involved in the project?
• Where did the idea for the project originate?
• Was the project large or small as far as the time spent and preparation involved?
• What area(s) of your music program was (were) affected by the project?
• Where did the funds come from? Was special fund-raising involved?
• Who did the project benefit?
• Was it really needed or was it just convenient as a project?
• When was the work done and completed? (Fall or Spring Semester)
• What percent of your chapter worked on the project?"
