CONSTITUTION OF
THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY
BUDDHIST ASSOCIATION

ARTICLE I:   NAME

1.1   

The name of the organization shall be University of Kentucky Buddhist Association (UKBA).

ARTICE II: PURPOSE

2.1   

To promote fellowship among Buddhist students in University of Kentucky.

2.2   

To bring students, faculty, and staff together in taking refuge with the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha of the Sages.

2.3   

To promote the essential teachings of the Traditional Buddhism-the Noble Tripitaka.

2.4   

To participate in rescuing the boundless living beings from suffering: old age, sickness, and death, etc.

2.5   

To promote the path to the cessation of suffering-Noble Eightfold Path, namely, Right Views, Right Intention, Right Speech, Right Behavior, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, and Right Meditative Concentration.

2.6   

To promote the Bodhisatta’s Six Paramita: Charity, Morality Precepts, Patience, Vigor, Meditative–Concentration, and Wisdom (Prajna).

2.7   

To share the answer to problem of existence such as "Who am I really?" and "Why do I exist?" and most importantly to provide the road to Buddhahood.
