Our Fall 2008 classes start tomorrow night, Wednesday, at 8:15pm in the Barker Hall Dance Studio. All are welcome to attend.

03/22/08 - Tournament Results

Last weekend we competed in the TSKA Championships in Owensboro, KY. We sent 13 members and won 19 medals. Our fighters swept the Advanced, Intermediate, Novice, and Beginner divisions with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes.

Our first tournament of 2008 is on March 15th.

01/14/08 - New Video

Wednesday night at 8:15pm in the Barker Hall Dance Studio our classes resume for the Spring Semester.

09/24/07 - New Members

We've added two new members to our roster.

Congratulations to our members who advanced in rank at testing in Owensboro yesterday.

The Picnic with Patsy/Club Day on UK's campus was yesterday. We had 50 shirts and 30 brochures to give away and they were all gone within the first 20 minutes of the event. We're all really pleased with how the day went for us.

Our practices start tonight at 8:15pm in the Barker Hall Dance Studio. Anyone interested is welcome to participate or observe.

08/17/07 - Welcome Back

Our training goes back to our Fall/Spring schedule and practices resume Monday night at 8:15pm in the Barker Hall Dance Studio.

This Sunday is Club Day at UK and the Budo Karate Club has reserved a booth at the event. We will have a group from Owensboro present for breaking demonstrations and we'll be handing out a limited number of free t-shirts. Club Day begins at 7pm on the lawn in front of the Main Administration building.

07/05/07 - Site Remodeling, Summer Classes

Some changes have been made to the site. We are still practicing over the summer months in the Barker Hall Dance Studio from 7:00pm to 8:15pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. The Dance Studio is to the left when you enter Barker Hall.

New videos have also been uploaded to the YouTube account since the last update. More to come.

04/21/07 - New Videos

Three members of the club took part in Eastern University's Japanse Culture festival this past Thursday. A brief discussion of Traditional Karate was given and demonstrations of kata and breaking were performed. Videos of the board breaking can be found in our YouTube account.

03/20/07 - Training Resumes

Our training resumes this week at Barker Hall. More videos are being added daily to our YouTube account. Stay Tuned.

03/04/07 - TSKA Tournament, Videos

Yesterday we competed in the Traditional Karate Championship in Owensboro, KY. Our club sent six competitors and won ten medals total.

01/24/07 - Members, Calendar

A new member was added to the Members page. Our calendar for January through March of 2007 has been updated.

On Mondays and Wednesdays we now meet at the Barker Hall Dance Studio from 8:15pm to 9:00pm. Practices on Friday are still at the same time. The Dance Studio in Barker Hall is to the left when you enter the building.

The rest of the pictures from the Purdue tournament have been added. The Calendar has been updated with our training schedule for the rest of this month till the end of January. The Member pictures have been updated. Keep an eye on the Videos page, I'll be periodically adding footage from last weekend over the next couple of days.

11/12/06 - Purdue Results, Videos

Over 70 competitors were in attendance this past weekend at Purdue. Dojos and Clubs from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky were represented. Our organization won several awards, including the team trophy given for Best Budo Spirit.

11/09/06 - Purdue Tournament

This weekend we will be competing in the 3rd Annual Purdue Challenge Karate Club Tournament at Purdue University. Six of our members will be representing the Club. Best of luck.

Since we'll be heading to Purdue on Friday, there is no scheduled practice on Friday. Our training will resume next week on Monday.

11/02/06 - Website Posted

Our website is up and running. The Videos page will be up after this weekend. Changes and additions will be made here and there. Good luck to all our members testing and competing this weekend in Owensboro.

10/30/06 - Under Construction

Members of our club recently competed in the FSKA World Championships in Las Vegas. Ross Cook took 2nd in the Adult Intermediate Kata and 3rd in the Adult Intermediate Kumite. Graham Postel placed 2nd in the 18-21 year old Advance Kumite. Video clips from the tournament are available on the Videos page.

This week our club will be taking part in the inter-school Shiai held by Traditional Karate in Owensboro, Kentucky. Four of our members will be testing for rank. The following weekend we will be competing in Purdue University's Annual Tournament.
